Congratulations to Highline Public Schools’ Payton Adams, Charleisha Cox, Matthew Morin and Brian Phuong! This team of sophomore students from Raisbeck Aviation High School won the 2017 Raisbeck Aviation High School Environmental Challenge.

The Environmental Challenge is an annual program where students must solve a “true-to-life” environmental problem representative of the type of challenges airports typically encounter.

This year’s challenge focused on three specific off-airport properties. Students needed to strategize if and how they might develop the properties. The students’ objective was to weigh Port of Seattle's economic development goals versus its environmental stewardship goals when coming up with their solutions.

Get ready for your #whatsthatwednesday reveal. This week features a 180-foot gently arcing wall by Erin Shie Palmer, that is designed to be reminiscent of a walk through dense Pacific Northwest forests. The piece can be found near carousels 1, 2, and 3 on the baggage claim level. Thanks for playing!

We’re celebrating the official groundbreaking for our new International Arrivals Facility that will dramatically improve the experience for international travelers and better meet our region’s demand for business and tourism-related international service.

The new 450,000-square-foot, multi-level facility will be built to the east of the current Concourse A. An iconic aerial walkway, which will span 900 feet across and 85 feet above the existing aircraft taxi lane, will carry arriving international passengers from the South Satellite across the top of Concourse A to the Customs and Border Protection inspection services in the new IAF.

Learn what national and international airlines have to say about this exciting project at http://bit.ly/2i3iHVV, and view fly-through videos and project renderings at http://bit.ly/2uZwgqk.

Tom Korocz - Was outdated 20yrs ago. Now parking soaring and still enough to waste money screening us badged employees while no other airport that I know of has done so. (This was NOT a TSA decision) A different escalator or elevator breaking down every day but more raises for maintenance workers who I only see having coffee. Traffic nightmares daily affecting employees on our shuttle due to rental car buses needing to have 2 lanes of arrivals blocked at the Alaska end..the busiest of the whole airport. We need whole new set of Port commissioners.

Michelle Burkholder - In 1997 I worked on a ramp that connected the departure road to the first parking garage. Now my beautiful bridge is a two million dollar light stand for a giant poster. It hasn't been driven on since about 2006. Stop wasting money. How that stupid tunnel machine coming? You have no right to waste tax money with sales tax at nearly10%. Why do people who don't fly have to pay for it. I could not care less what people think of Seattle when they get off the plane. The PNW is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
