Last Friday, Athena’s food truck made its debut at the Sea-Tac Airport cell phone lot, serving up Greek cuisine to hungry people waiting to pick up family and friends at the airport.
At just after 11:30 a.m., the truck was starting to pick up lunch business. Nick Parisi, owner of Athena’s, a family-owned business based in Seattle, said that Athena’s has had a presence throughout Seattle for the past 35 years. The truck started out at festivals like Bumbershoot, and has expanded to become a fixture at busy locations throughout Seattle.
Parisi said his favorite menu item is the Chicken Bacon Ranch, which consists of garlic chicken smothered in cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon and ranch, served on a warm pita. The gyros and gyro fries – served with tzatziki, feta, red onion, olives and choice of protein are also big crowd-pleasers.
Parisi said he is optimistic about bringing food trucks to the cell phone lot, located directly across from the S. 170th Street exit of the Airport Expressway.
“Other cities have had food trucks in their cell phone lots and it sounds like it’s worked out well for them,” Parisi said.
Look for Athena’s at Sea-Tac’s cell phone lot every Friday from 1 p.m.- 8 p.m.
