Water Alert Update: Lee County Utilities has just reported we will have some pressure variances, but water should be at a sufficient pressure to maintain normal services. Paradies and HMSHost will be able to resume full food and beverage service.
Water Alert: We are having intermittent water problems, which are impacting restrooms and food & beverage locations in the terminal. We may experience a loss of pressure in the terminal throughout the day. Our F&B concessions will only be serving cold items, i.e., sandwiches, bottled beverages until further notice. No hot items or coffee, etc. will be available until further notice.
Hello Southwest Florida! Here is the current news from RSW. Flights have resumed but not every airline is operating their full schedules. We cannot answer questions about specific flights but your airline will be able to provide the best information. Expect full resumption of service by Friday, Sept. 15. There are limited food & beverage and retail at RSW today and tomorrow. Please get to RSW extra early for your flights, as airline check-in and TSA processing with take more time due to volume. All rental car agencies are open and taxi service has some availability.
RSW Update: Our airlines are planning to resume operations, for the most part, mid-morning to early afternoon on Wednesday. For details about specific flights you must contact your airline.
Expect JetBlue, Frontier, Sun Country, United Airlines, American to start having flights arrive between 11:00 a.m. and noon. Delta plans to operate all flights on Wednesday. Expect flights on Thursday to begin operating more normally with even better operations on Friday. Please arrive at RSW even earlier than usual because staffing is still limited and it will take more time to check in and go through security.
We are meeting with our airline partners today and should start to have better information on when some flights are going to begin operating. This is a dynamic situation with lots of moving parts but our number one goal is to get RSW up and running safely. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
RSW Update: We have completed our safety inspections and there is no damage at Southwest Florida International Airport. For those of you who parked in the garage or long-term parking, everything is secure. The roadways in and out of RSW are accessible. Unfortunately, we cannot begin operations until commercial power is restored. We are working with our airlines and TSA to get staffing levels to where they need to be. RSW is doing everything we can to get air service back to Southwest Florida. Thanks to everyone for your support.
Airport Update: The following airlines are not operating on Monday or Tuesday - United, JetBlue, American and Southwest. Delta will be advising us later today.
A big round of applause to HMSHost, our food & beverage vendor, for feeding the RSW employees this morning so we could do our jobs to keep the airport ready for flights as soon as the weather improves.
