Memphis International Airport In Memphis Tennessee was proud to honor the Forever Young Senior Veterans today as they departed for a visit to Pearl Harbor. This trip was made possible due to the fundraising efforts of Ben Emerson, from Boy Scouts of America - Troop 211, Shelby County. Delta Air Lines MEM crew took extra special care of our veterans while awaiting their departure.

About the Job: Responsible for performing tasks related to the daily operations of the Memphis International Airport and for FAR Part 139 compliance on an assigned shift. Responsible for coordination of security and maintenance matters after normal work hours, weekends and holidays. Serves as a Duty Manager in the absence of senior management with responsibility for coordinating maintenance and security functions after daily work hours, weekends, and holidays.

Memphis-International Airport (MEM) welcomes the addition of a second Air Canada nonstop frequency between Memphis and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) today. The additional service begins on the one-year anniversary of Air Canada’s return to MEM.

During the last week of April, Orbis International flew their Flying Eye Hospital into MEM and a few of us were lucky enough to score a tour of this state-of-the-art airborne medical teaching facility. The plane Orbis uses is a repurposed DC-10, donated by our friends at FedEx, and its mission is to heal and share medical and surgical knowledge with doctors around the world to help cure preventable blindness.
From Orbis: "The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital is unlike any plane you’ve seen before. A state-of-the-art teaching facility complete with operating room, classroom and recovery room - this amazing aircraft has been an example of the marriage between medicine and aviation since 1982."

Concourse B construction bidding deadline extended:
With the extension, the selection of the project’s contractor is expected to be submitted to the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority Board of Commissioners in August, with actual construction to begin in early September. The project is still expected to be completed in 2021.
Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) has extended the deadline for its B Concourse construction from May 15 to June 15. The change will allow the pre-qualified prime contractors additional time to prepare pricing and form their construction teams.
