AIRPORT COP SAVES OFW
August 18, 2017 - A thankful OFW posted in her Facebook account her flight-saving airport experience recently. She also shared it to Mocha Uson’s facebook page.
Mary Jane Abalos, an OFW from Bahrain, had a flight to Bahrain last August 11, 2017. Unknowingly, she landed at the wrong Terminal and was in a quandary how she will reach NAIA Terminal 3 from NAIA Terminal 1 without missing her flight.
Sensing she was in trouble, Airport Police Officer Joebert Besonia, in Abalos’ own words “came to her rescue” and informed her that there is an airport loop shuttle bus that can bring her to NAIA Terminal 3. Abalos’ other problem is that she had no more Philippine currency to pay for the bus fare. At this point, APO1 Besonia willingly shelled out P20.00 to pay for her fare.
“Salamat sa 20 pesos na pinambayad nya sa bus…” “I salute u sir tunay n maaasahan kayo sa gitna ng pangangailangan…” “This is the way I thank you for assisting me in the airport na hindi naghihintay ng kapalit…Salute,” were Mary Jane’s own words posted in Uson’s FB page.
“I thank Mary Jane Abalos for her inspiring words of gratitude. This speaks for the rest of our men and women in the Airport Police Department (APD)– that there are truly good Samaritans in our midst,” said MIAA GM Ed Monreal.
Besonia joined the MIAA Airport Police Department (APD) in October 8, 2014 and is a member of APD Batch 14. He is 27 years old. At the time of the incident, he was assigned at the Traffic Enforcement Section of the APD.
