Hello everyone.
Today, we’d like to share with you information regarding cherry blossoms along the Keikyu Line. There is a local cherry blossom event at the shopping district in Komyoji, just a three-minute walk from Gumyoji Station on the Keikyu Line.
In the center of the shopping district runs Ooka River, with Sakura Bridge and Kannon Bridge crossing over the river. The view of the cherry blossoms is just magnificent. The lit-up trees and paper lanterns allure you to a dreamy spring night. Illumination can be enjoyed every spring from the end of March to mid-April. Many food vendors will be there. We hope you get a chance to visit.

Hi everyone!
Today is Spring Equinox. The length of day and night is nearly equal on this day.
In Japan, it is customary to eat botamochi, or sweet rice balls with azuki beans, on the first day of spring. Botamochi was offered to the ancestors in the past because the red color of azuki beans was believed to drive away evil spirits.
Botamochi is even more delicious enjoyed with a nice cup of Japanese green tea. We hope you have a chance to eat it in the spring.

Hello!
Japan will soon welcome everyone's favorite cherry blossom season.
Today, we'd like to introduce you a place in Yokohama which is famous for cherry blossoms. There is a few cherry trees near the water stairs by the mountain side of Yokohama's landmark Yamashita Park. It is a great location to take in the view of the ocean and ocean liner Hikawa Maru while enjoying the cherry blossoms in full bloom. We especially recommend the weeping cherry trees near Hikawa Maru. If visiting Yokohama in the spring, why not also enjoy cherry blossom viewing?

Hello everyone!
Tomorrow is Hina Matsuri, also called Doll's Festival, and is a special day to celebrate the daughters' health and happiness.
Confectionary called hina-arare is eaten on this day. The sugar-coated bite-sized rice crackers come in pink, green, yellow and white. The colors are said to represent the four seasons. Because Hina-arare is rich in starch, which is beneficial to health, it is believed to bring girls happiness throughout the year.
Understanding Japanese culture makes the traveling more fun. ^^

Hello!
Have you heard of the Airmail Day? Today is the day!
It was on this day in 1911 when a batch of mail was transported by plane for the first time.
With the development of SNS and emails, the act of writing letters has become rather obsolete. Why not send your friends a postcard from Tokyo on your next visit?

Hi everyone!
It is still chilly every day but the budding season for Japanese plum flowers has arrived slightly before the cherry blossoms!
The plum trees are flowering little by little at the Shinjuku Gyoen National Park, known for its beautiful Japanese garden.

The illumination can be enjoyed until this Sunday, 19th, so don't miss it!
